Rizzo Gets 12 Years

Robert Rizzo, former Bell City Manager and the most notorious defendant in that city’s corruption scandal, has been sentenced to 12 years in state prison by Superior Court judge Kathleen Kennedy.  He was also ordered to pay $8.8 million in restitution to the city.  The state sentence will run concurrently with the 33-month federal sentence he received on Monday for tax evasion.

The judge permitted Rizzo to remain free on bond until May 30, when he is ordered to turn himself in to start serving his sentence.
